The EdNET team has been listening and using your input for planning EdNET 2017. I have had awesome conversations with this year’s Advisory Board, and we have received valuable suggestions from many of you through surveys and interviews as well as sponsor recommendations. Wait till you see what we have planned. Here are my top 10 things I know you’re going to just love about this year’s conference.
# 10: The amazing resort!
Scottsdale, Arizona, is a beautiful place to visit any time, and the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch is a perfect venue for EdNET activities. Set amidst flowering cactus and framed against the majestic McDowell Mountains, this resort is relaxed and inviting, providing stunning views blended with intriguing Native American culture.
# 9: Five—count them, five!—impactful general sessions
General sessions will open and anchor each day of EdNET. We are super excited to bring you:
- Jordan Bower, a strategic storyteller, to discuss why trust has become your business
- Whitney Johnson, recognized as one of the 50 leading business thinkers in the world, on putting the power of disruptive innovation to work
- Elissa Tomasetti, a data-driven CMO who has played both entrepreneur and “intra-preneur,” taking start-ups to success and helping businesses redefine themselves in the digital age
- Lisa Gelobter, with an expansive background in strategy development, business operations, user-centered design, product management, and engineering
- And a conversation with three Chief State School Officers regarding their goals and plans under ESSA, how they envision accomplishing those goals, and how education companies can help
# 8: More professional development with 15 breakout sessions on targeted topics
What do you most want to learn? Breakout sessions will drill down on where the market is headed and offer concrete strategies and tactics in five specialized tracks: Policy and Leadership, Marketing, Market Trends, Ed Tech, and Development. Review the full schedule and note sessions of key interest so you don’t miss them.
# 7: Networking fun and dedicated networking time
EdNET has always worked to facilitate networking and new business relationships. Attendees told us they need that networking time but don’t want to miss the professional development sessions offered. This year, attendees get their wish: new dedicated networking time packed with fun options—golfing, a yoga class, a spa session, a round of tennis, a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West, poolside relaxation, and more. On Monday afternoon, pick up your grab-and-go lunch and head out for some fun networking. And if you want to schedule meetings or catch up on e-mail, you can do that too!
# 6: An invigorating start to your Monday!
Get an early start on the day with a 5K fun run around the surrounding areas of the resort. This run/walk will start off with a lead guide to direct you through the neighborhood. Just sign up in advance during the registration process.
# 5: Expanded exhibit hours
An evening opportunity for catching up on new products and services from companies you know and learning about new companies in the market just wasn’t enough. We heard attendees and sponsors alike and will be showcasing exhibit tables in the attendee networking area on Monday from 8:00-3:00 and on Tuesday from 8:00 – 2:00.
# 4: Birds-of-a-Feather Roundtables—X2!
The always-popular sponsor roundtables bring together attendees focused on a topic of shared interest for an insightful discussion. Topics range from industry trends to marketing creative. This year, roundtables are scheduled on both Monday and Tuesday during the breakfast hour. Select a table discussion to share your experiences and concerns with like-minded attendees, and you’ll come away with fresh ideas and valuable business connections.
# 3: Monday evening event
Following the afternoon networking activities and late afternoon keynote, EdNET invites all attendees to a Happy (Half) Hour and relaxed Evening Event. Come and be our guest!
# 2: Plenty of ways to follow the EdNET conversations
The year-round EdNET community is growing! Tweet using the #EdNET17 hashtag and follow others contributing to conversations. “Like” the event and join colleagues on Facebook and LinkedIn to participate in discussions and get timely information. Track topics of interest to other attendees and monitor the conference hashtag to see what others are talking about.
And my #1 reason you will love EdNET 2017….
# 1: Seeing the Snoop—and so many more!
OK, I could not resist that. But you will want to be in Scottsdale to join your many industry colleagues to exchange ideas, learn from industry experts, hear from education leaders, and forge valuable relationships. Join me and other industry colleagues and friends at EdNET 2017 in Scottsdale, September 17-19. You heard it from me—you’re going to love it!
