From Research to Practice: Technology’s Power to Unlock Opportunities for all Students
Presented by PwC
In this exciting session, Eileen Buckley, the Director of Responsible Business Leadership at PwC, will share insightful research into schools and technology. You’ll hear about PwC’s 2018 report, with a central message that while the use of technology in teaching has increased over the past five years, educators still face major barriers to equipping students with the technology skills they need for the jobs of today and tomorrow. One of the key takeaways of the report is that students are significantly more likely to spend time consuming (e.g., watching a video) rather than creating (e.g., producing a video) technology in the classroom. PwC’s Access your Potential commitment will also be highlighted, which is equipping young people from disadvantaged communities, who may otherwise be excluded from the workforce, with the financial, technological, and career-selection skills they need to succeed.

Making a Difference in Your Neighborhood: One Educators Approach at Reaching Beyond the Classroom
Presented by Dwayne Reed
We’re excited to have teacher, performer, community advocate, and influencer Dwayne Reed at EdNET Chicago! Come hear his lively session about how marketers should pay attention to what is going on in the school communities they aim to work within. Schools are often a resource for students that goes beyond academia, becoming like a second home to some, and the effects of certain advocacy and enrichment programs can have a lasting impact. Understanding these issues is a great way to determine which resources may provide much needed help to communities nationwide.
